Red Wine and Premium Chocolate Hamper

The wine is a Californian red made from Petite Sirah grapes. These grapes are the love child of two French grapes (Syrah and Peloursin) that were combined in the 1860s by the French botanist, Francois Durif, then taken to California in the 1880s by the Californian vintner, Charlies McIver. They produce an inky purple wine, because of the high skin-to-juice ratio of the grapes, with a bold flavour thanks to the relatively high level of tannins. We have matched this strong wine with some equally robust taste sensations, with chilli and lime flavoured basked nuts from Cambrook and sweet and salty caramel chocolates from the award winning Lauden Chocolate.
